Current status of DRR and CCA implementation and their integration in ASEAN and Selected good practices of DRR and CCA integration in ASEAN

is an initiative under the ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) Working Group on Prevention and Mitigation, supported by the Government of Japan through Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF)

Understanding disaster risk is listed as one of the four priority actions for disaster risk reduction in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) 2015-2030 adopted in the third UN World Conference on DRR in 2015.

(1) Increasing frequency of landslides in  ASEAN countries (2) Inadequate understanding of the nature and scale of the landslide risks of both current landslides and those that may occur as negative impact of future climate change (3) Need to integrate landslide risk perception/understanding into disaster risk reduction processes and strategy planning development
